Taking Neighborhood Health to Heart

Taking Neighborhood Health to Heart (TNHTH) began as a community-based participatory research (CBPR) project involving five diverse, urban neighborhoods (Park Hill, Northeast Park Hill, East Montclair, Northwest Aurora and Stapleton - together referred to as "the Community"), the University of Colorado Denver, and the Stapleton Foundation. This project was funded by the National Institutes of Health to investigate the impact of the built and social environment on health and health disparities among adults living in the five neighborhoods.  TNHTH has actively involved over 80 community residents throughout the participatory research project to help design recruitment and data collection methods and collect and interpret health data from 950 residents in the five neighborhoods. An essential feature of TNH2H is that a community-led subcommittee called TNHTH Data Review and Dissemination (DRAD) manages neighborhood-level data, with its members serving as stewards of health information for the benefit of the five diverse neighborhoods.
